Dubai EHS Awards 2008

The Winners

There are 9 Categories and each Category is divided into 3 separate classes of winners:         Gold, Silver and Bronze.

• Dubai World Business Unit & Government Department Award. This is a new category introduced to look at excellence within Dubai World and/or a Government Department within Emirate of Dubai.

In this Category, Dubai Police Headquarter was the first place winner, the second place winner was Dubai Dry docks, and the third place winner was Dubai Holding.

 

• Construction Safety. Is open to all main contractors meeting the award criteria.

in this Category, the First place winner was Laing O’Rourke, the Second place winner was Kier Dubai LLC, and the Third place winner was Taisei Corporation.

 

• Food and Health. There are 2 subdivision under this Category (1) Food service and restaurants, (2) Food manufacturers, in both cases the establishment must be in an area under the jurisdiction of Trakhees EHS.
• Food Safety Category: In the Food Safety Category the first place winner was Mars GCC, the second place winner was Unilever, and the third place winner was Wild Flavors.

 

 

Food Service & Production: For Service & Production the first place winner was Bustan Rotana Hotel, the second place winner was Metropolitan Catering Services, and the third place winner was Kelvin Catering.

 

• Environment. One of the aims of this award is to encourage companies to obtain an environmental management system and reduce the environmental impact.

In this Category, the first place winner was Total Lubricants Blending UAE Company Ltd. The second place winner was Al Nakheel Company, and the third place winner was Alstrom Power Services Arabia.

 

• Ports and Maritime. The award highlights to the public that companies can conduct ship repair & Port operational activities safely and in a pollution-free manner, even though such activities are complex and carry a significant element of risk.

There are 2 subdivision under this Category (1) Large Ship Repair and Port Operations Activities. (2) Medium Ship Repair and Port Operations Activities.

Large Ship Repair and Port Operations activities Winners: The first place winner was Nico International, the second place winner was Goltens Co. Ltd., and the third winner was Platinum Yachts FZCO.

Medium Ship Repair and Port Operations Activities Winners: The first winner was Solas Marine Services, the second winner was Expert United Marine Services and the third winner was MetroMac.

 

• Free Zone and Industrial Operations. There are 2 subdivision under this Category

(1)  Free Zones & Industrial Operations (Services & Production). (2) Free Zones & Industrial Operations (Trade & Warehousing).

Free Zones & Industrial Operations Category (Services & Production): The first place winner was SRF Overseas Limited, and the second place winner was Oilfield Supply Center Limited,   and the third place winner was Crown Emirates Limited.

 

 

Free Zones & Industrial Operations Category (Trade & Warehousing): the first place winner was Cater Pillar Logistics, the second place winner was BASF KANOO, and the third place winner was FP Aeroparts M.E. FZE.

 

           

 

• Media- Outstanding Environmental Publication Award. This is a new category that has been introduced  and the award consists of 1 Gold Category only.

In this Category, the first place winner for the audiovisual media was Sama Dubai Channel, and the first place winner for the press was Gulf News and that for their constant efforts in promoting environmental awareness.

 

 

• Fire Fighting System Category. In the Fire Fighting System Category the first place winner was ENOC Jebel Ali, the second place winner was DAFAZA, and the third place winner was AGGREKO.

• Green Building and Sustainability Award. This new award was added for the new constructions within Emirate of Dubai in compliance with the Green Resolution 2008 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

In this Category the first place winner was Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the second place winner was Three Fishing Harbors Redevelopment, and the third place winner was DMCC Office and Business Park.
