About Role:

The jobholder will be responsible for managing all general ledger transactions, including month end close processes, as well as maintaining supporting documents related to BS reconciliations and ensuring full compliance with the company’s accounting rules.

Responsibilities:

Implement month-end procedures to guarantee timely and correct general ledger closure for UAE firms.
Check that the GL balances reported match the supporting documentation (front end systems, data provided by other functions)
Keep the underwriting manual adjustments register at the conclusion of each month (Life and Non Life)
Manage Fixed Assets, Prepayments, and Accruals records, among other things.
Verify that the company’s accounting policies are followed.
Maintain stringent internal controls over OF transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist the BS reconciliation team in clearing reconciling items associated with GL accounts and providing supporting documentation.

Requirements:

Accounting principles, internal controls, and
Microsoft Office application knowledge (Excel, Power point, Visio etc.).
CIMA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification is required (Full or Part qualification)
2–4 years of experience in a comparable job. A background in insurance is advantageous.
Understanding of widely accepted accounting standards and internal control principles
Familiarity with IFRS17 adoption is advantageous.
Working knowledge with Oracle Financial is advantageous.
