About Role:

Fitters may work in the automotive, aircraft, manufacturing, or mining industries, where they are in charge of fitting, fabricating, and assembling structural components that comprise mechanical systems. In addition, they repair and service machinery as needed.

Responsibilities:

Analyzing mechanical system blueprints to determine the specifications of the components to be built.
Making structural components out of raw materials.
Welding equipment is used to join structural components.
Inspecting manufactured components to ensure they are the correct size.
Cutting structural components with shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives as needed.
Creating an appropriate maintenance schedule and performing system maintenance as needed.

Requirements:

GED or high school diploma.
State certification is required.
Proven fitter experience is required.
Solid understanding of local and state building codes.
The ability to work with both hand and power tools.
The ability to interpret mechanical system blueprints.
The ability to focus for extended periods of time.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Outstanding communication, time management, and organisational abilities.
