About Role:

The Sharjah Education Academy is looking for candidates with experience in teacher education and a track record of effective teaching and research. Participants must be willing to mentor, advise, supervise, and coach postgraduate student teachers in preparation for future careers in education. The Academy also seeks candidates who are fluent in both English and Arabic and have taught in both languages.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the development of the Academy by performing community service and developing course materials.
Teach graduate-level courses in a variety of areas of K-12 education, serve as a model for best pedagogical practises, and create a highly engaging, active learning environment.
Teach face-to-face and online in synchronous and asynchronous modes, and contribute to their design.
Work with programme chairs to develop curriculum for new and existing academic programmes, including the creation of assessments for student learning outcomes.

Requirements:

A doctorate (PhD/EdD) in education from an internationally recognised university is required; Educational Psychology or Early Childhood specialisations are preferred.
Experience in teacher education and the PreK-12 educational system, as well as supervising student teachers.
Experience teaching and delivering courses using a learning management system (LMS).
Proactive in research conduct and publication, as well as participation in collaborative research initiatives and conferences
Experience working in the Middle East is preferred.
Fluency in both Arabic and English is preferred.
