About Role:

Under the supervision of the main control room operators, monitor and manipulate power plant systems and components using approved procedures and instructions in accordance with regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection to ensure overall business performance objectives are met.

Responsibilities:

To ensure safe and reliable plant operation, operate local plant systems in all modes of operation.
To ensure safety and operational excellence, follow operator guidelines in normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
At designated times, conduct a thorough inspection of all areas assigned within responsibilities to ensure that equipment is operating properly and standby equipment is fully operational.
Note any deficiencies in responsible areas to ensure that operations quality is maintained.
Examine the equipment panel alarm light bulbs and annunciators to ensure that the visual and audible abnormal condition indicators are working properly.

Requirements:

Participate in training to gain the necessary technical knowledge and skills, and successfully complete all required Local Operator training courses.
To improve training quality, provide training feedback on programme effectiveness along with an evaluation of operator performance.
Senior High School Equivalent certification for completion of basic math, science, and literacy skills, or a Higher Diploma in Nuclear Technology (HDNT).
There is no relevant experience.
