About Role:

Lab technicians, also known as laboratory technicians, perform routine technical tasks and experiments in support of laboratory-based scientific investigations. Lab technicians analyse samples or substances using laboratory equipment, perform tests on those samples or substances, and report on their findings.

Responsibilities:

When necessary, collecting, receiving, labelling, and/or analysing samples or substances with the appropriate testing equipment.
Designing and carrying out laboratory tests in accordance with standard testing procedures, as well as recording observations and interpreting results.
All experimental data and test results must be accurately recorded and submitted in the specified format (written and/or electronic).
All chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases must be organised and stored in accordance with safety guidelines.
Ensuring that laboratory safety guidelines are followed at all times.

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a closely related field is required.
A valid laboratory technician licence is required.
Proven laboratory technician experience.
Working knowledge of electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment is required.
Handling potentially hazardous substances with ease (flammable liquids, biohazards, etc.)
Knowledge of QHSE management systems, preventative measures, and laboratory best practises is required.
