About Role:

Patients and medical practitioners are served by pharmacists. Receives, compounds, fills prescriptions, dispenses pharmaceuticals, consults with clients about drug nature and use, and trains and/or supervises personnel. Routine quality control testing procedures are performed; all necessary records required by federal, state, and local regulations are prepared and maintained.

Responsibilities:

Compounds, prepares, and/or supervises the compounding, preparation, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals to patients or medical practitioners; makes decisions on generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals.
Consults with patients and/or physicians about drug indications/contraindications, dosage, drug interactions, and side effects; and provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as needed.
Oversees the purchase and distribution of drugs and medications to various offices, clinics, and other locations.
During the course of work, provides education, guidance, and training to students, pharmacy interns, and or trainees, and monitors performance.

Requirements:

Capability to uphold quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
Understanding of clinical operations and procedures.
Knowledge of how to use personal computers and related software applications.
Understanding of accreditation and certification requirements.
Understanding of pharmaceutical drug distribution policies and regulations.
Capability to supervise and train assigned personnel.
