About Role:

The Purchasing Officer is in charge of sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services for RAK Academy’s daily operations, as well as maintaining purchasing records, negotiating with vendors, and researching prospective suppliers.

Responsibilities:

Prospective supplier research
Purchasing and sourcing goods and services
Prepare purchase reports
Product research and the identification of new suppliers and vendors
Supplier prequalification and performance evaluation
Buying and selling goods, products, and services. Examine the product’s quality.
Receive purchase requests, obtain quotations, and negotiate terms of agreement and pricing in the most cost-effective manner possible.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Business, Logistics, or a related field
English proficiency at the professional level (written and spoken)
Arabic is advantageous.
Advanced Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office skills
Skills in written and verbal communication, as well as negotiation.
2+ years of work experience in a similar position
Excellent understanding of vendor sourcing practises (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
