Responsibilities:

Participate in continuous discovery of your customer/business needs/desires/problems with your cross-functional team (engineering, product, data) to drive desired outcomes.
Design, write, and release software as an end-to-end solution to a business domain problem, and deliver value in small batches in accordance with our engineering standards.
Understand your services’ scalability and complexity, and own and innovate the entire SDLC.
Mentor and inspire other engineers, and constantly improve your team’s practises to make it a self-organized, constantly improving unit.
Critically examine and simplify our technology organization’s systems/processes and solutions.

Requirements:

Empathetic and easily formed relationships
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Humble, inquisitive, and open-minded with a growth mindset who thrives on constant feedback
Understanding of lean/agile values and principles, as well as the practises that go with them
capability of mentoring other engineers
5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in an Extreme Programming environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, and Continuous Refactoring)
Testing expertise with a focus on automated end-to-end quality
Architecture of Distributed Systems Experience (Microservices, Event-Driven, and RESTful Services)
Working knowledge of relational and nonrelational databases
Cloud platforms have been exposed (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
Experience with Trunk Based Development and Continous Delivery in building, maintaining, and improving
