Atlantis The Palm, Dubai is a fancy hotel on Palm Jumeirah in the United Arab Emirates. It’s special because it’s the first hotel to mix Atlantis themes with Arabic style. It opened on September 24, 2008, and it was made by Istithmar and Kerzner International Holdings Limited. The construction took about two years, and Kerzner International Resorts runs the hotel.
The hotel was designed by a famous design firm called Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo (WATG). A big company from the United Kingdom, Lang O’Rourke, did the construction. When the hotel opened, they had a huge light show with lots of fireworks that lasted for 15 minutes. In 2012, Istithmar bought half of Kerzner’s shares for $250 million.
