About Role:

Laboratory supervisors are in charge of overseeing a laboratory’s day-to-day operations. They ensure that all testing and analysis are carried out in accordance with established protocols, and they may also be involved in the development of new methods or techniques for analysing samples.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the lab’s daily operations.
Ensure that testing and analysis are carried out in accordance with the protocol.
Assist the lab by taking over testing of samples that exhibit or require special handling so that laboratory personnel can concentrate on testing.
After checking the test status, handle all testing-related questions and clarification from the lab.
Before introducing a new test method into the laboratory, it must be tested and verified.

Requirements:

Recording and monitoring the lab’s environmental conditions to ensure that the required conditions are met
Ensuring proper conditions are being met particularly with laboratory exhaust/extraction system, air conditioning, fume hoods
Recognize when environmental conditions are not met, resulting in poor test or calibration results, and take corrective action.
To avoid disrupting laboratory operations, use proper hazardous waste handling and storage as defined in the Hazardous Waste Plan.
Maintain adequate safe gas, water, and electricity supplies, as well as the necessary licences for an air compressor, crane, and hydrophore tank. Execute PM through an approved vendor.
Ensure that licencing for radioactive equipment, SDS, PFM licence, and HS licence is completed and maintained.
